One of my favorite times for a boudoir photoshoot is in the months leading up to your wedding. Not only does it give you the perfect chance to create a heartfelt, intimate gift for your partner, but it also doubles as a celebration of this special chapter in your life.
Think of it as part of your bridal prep: you’re already investing in hair trials, makeup appointments, and that gorgeous dress—why not take a day to celebrate you? Slip into something that makes you feel incredible, pamper yourself, and let’s create images that capture your beauty and your joy in this time of wedding preparation.
And trust me—your future spouse is going to love opening that album or collection of prints you gift them.
To Celebrate a Milestone
Another wonderful time to book a boudoir shoot is when you’re celebrating something big—turning 30, 40, 50 (or beyond!), hitting a professional goal, getting out of a toxic relationship, or just reaching a place where you finally feel good in your own skin. - Book your beauty appointments early. Whether it’s hair, nails, waxing, or spray tans, schedule everything in advance so you can relax knowing it’s all taken care of.
- Keep hair and makeup natural, but polished. I usually recommend a soft, natural palette and loose, playful hair. Think of it as your everyday beauty—just a little elevated for the camera.
- Choose outfits that feel like you. Bring two or three looks that make you feel amazing. A matching lingerie set, a robe, and something playful like a button-down shirt or jersey are always a great mix.
- Practice posing. Don’t overthink it, but spending a few minutes in front of the mirror helps you get comfortable moving your body and finding your best angles.
