One of my all-time favorite parts of being an Austin wedding photographer is all the love stories I get to hear. Getting to know each couple is a huge part of my process! Only by understanding who you are can I capture photos that feel authentic to you and your story. When Neyce and AJ first inquired, they told me they didn’t want anything posed or perfect. They just wanted “real moments that capture who we are: playful, a little goofy, and deeply in love.” Lucky for them, capturing real moments is my specialty! I was honored to work alongside an amazing vendor team for this stunning outdoor wedding at The Cedars Ranch in Wimberly, Texas.

Neyce and AJ met online while taking Japanese classes. They bonded over a shared love of anime, video games, and trying new food! What started as a friendship developed into something more as they began dating long distance, traveling together, and experiencing everything life had to offer. AJ proposed on Boracay Island in the Philippines, and the couple soon started planning their US and Filipino weddings!
They chose to get married at The Cedars Ranch in Wimberly because of the many lodging options! This glamping venue is a unique option for anyone wanting an outdoor wedding weekend with many opportunities for quality time and meaningful connection.

The day of their wedding, Neyce and AJ got ready with their respective friends in the coolest glamp-style yurts. Neyce wore an absolutely stunning ballgown with intricate beading and elegant off-the-shoulder sleeves. She’s planning on rewearing this gown for the Filipino wedding later this year! AJ looked dapper in a royal blue suit. The bridesmaids wore pale yellow gowns while the groomsmen were in dusty blue, reflecting the wedding colors of dusty and royal blue with hints of beige and brown.
The outdoor wedding ceremony was everything they hoped for. Neyce and AJ exchanged handwritten vows that had everyone tearing up. They stood, framed by an octagonal archway and two oak trees that made for an exquisite altar. The ceremony reflected both Neyce and AJ’s cultures and upbringing, creating a beautiful mix of traditions that felt unique to them.

After the ceremony, Neyce changed into a strapless corset dress so she could dance the night away. I stole the couple away for some outdoor portraits during golden hour, taking advantage of the beautiful landscapes Wimberly is known for. Their reception in the Event Hall was simply bursting with joy and laughter. The couple included so many personal details, like tea and coffee guest favors, photos of loved ones who had passed on, custom champagne glasses and—my personal favorite—a printed screenshot of their Facebook profiles when they started dating!

Neyce and AJ’s wedding is such a perfect example of making your wedding whatever you want it to be. They wanted their celebration to feel warm and welcoming, and they went above and beyond to make sure each guest felt that comfort. Their wedding planner, Danielle with Riley Lou Events, played a huge role in making sure this outdoor wedding came together without a hitch. She coordinated timelines, tracked the weather, handed out bubble guns, and checked in with each vendor to make sure we had everything we needed.
Nothing beats working with a dedicated vendor team on the best day ever. Neyce and AJ could be fully present, ensuring they got the photos that captured their cozy love and unpretentious celebration. If you’re like Neyce and AJ and want your wedding (and your photos!) to feel easy, approachable, and designed around you, I would love to work with you!
