Friends, this is a blog post you don’t want to miss! You know it’s going to be a fun and cool photoshoot when your bride is your favorite baker. And even moreso when it’s a Hollywood engagement session at Le Tub, a former gas station turned funky burger shack.
Many of you know about Two Fat Cookies, and for those of you who don’t, check it out! It’s by far my favorite bakery in the area! It’s a weekend tradition to get a goody, or two, and we celebrate our big moments with their cakes. (Sidenote: my favorite flavor is the chocolate cake with peanut butter filling, but they’re ALL good.)
Now, the reason I bring up Two Fat Cookies is because if you know the bakery, you should know the ladies behind the delicious treats: Zoey and her mother, Debbie. “Mother-daughter duo, Debbie and Zoey Wexler, along with their talented staff, collaborate on a daily basis to bring you the best in quality ingredients, and wow you with treats that look too good to eat.
While Debbie and her team of bakers bring you gourmet cookies unique to Two Fat Cookies, as well as nostalgic classics, Zoey and her team of decorators take cupcake flavors to new heights and turn cakes into works of art.”
Zoey and I first met at the Addison for an event, and I just so happened to be looking for a baker to collaborate on a styled wedding shoot. Why look any further after trying one of her cupcakes?
Two Fat Cookies did not disappoint. Their trio of cakes for our styled shoot was AMAZING (blog to follow in the near future)! And that, my friends, was the beginning of a wonderful friendship. (In case you’re wondering, the title is “Friendors.” If you haven’t heard of this phrase before, it’s “friend” and “vendors” combined.)
Less than a year later, Zoey got engaged (Yay! Congrats!) the day after her birthday (Happy Birthday!) in Maine, while celebrating her friend’s wedding. She got in touch and we started discussing celebrating her wedding together.
This discussion lead to our sushi dates, because aside from Two Fat Cookies, Zoey and I also share a sushi obsession! Let’s be honest, it’s not just sushi. She, her fiance, and I share a love for food (we are self-proclaimed ‘foodies’).
As mentioned above, Zoey and her main squeeze, Max, are foodies. So when we started brainstorming their engagement session, they knew they wanted something related to food. And, as you’ll see below, Zoey and Max are not traditional, have fun personalities, and wanted a session personal to them. As Zoey said during one of our sushi dates, they’re not the ‘beach and park’ type of people. To do a session at a beach or park wouldn’t be true to who they are or personal to them in any way.
What would be personal to them? A favorite spot. One of their favorite restaurants. And with Max’s love for the laid-back Florida Keys, and their love for food, they decided on Le Tub.
Not many know about Le Tub because it’s a hidden gem. This restaurant is a gas station turned burger shack on the intracoastal waterway in Hollywood, Florida. With colors and a laid-back feel like you’d experience in the Keys, Le Tub is known for its burgers, which have been featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show and GQ Magazine.
Both Max and Zoey love the atmosphere of this venue, not to mention their good and tasty classic burger. This burger shack is the perfect choice for their session.
So please view the fun and photos below, and enjoy this Hollywood engagement session at Le Tub:
From head locks and massages to back scratches and head-rubbings …If I were to caption Zoey’s facial expression: “When is it going to be my turn?”Aren’t they beautiful?!I love how Le Tub has their very first, original menu still available to view:Honestly, if it were my husband and I, I wouldn’t be sharing! 🤣 It’s “what’s yours is mine” taken literally.Oh my gosh, aren’t they just the cutest?!When your ring is this gorgeous, you make sure to take every photo opp there is! “Pinky up!”The below picture makes me giggle!Okay, but seriously. Zoey and Max are so super photogenic and fun to work with! I can only imagine how epic their wedding day is going to be! The below series is by far my favorite! The lighting and foliage, and of course, the couple are everything!A little table romance, anyone?Because Le Tub is on the intracoastal waterway, we were able to watch the sun set and what a sun set it was! When the venue has such an interesting and eclectic interior, you must take advantage! All good things must come to an end … well, at least for now.
More Zoey and Max adventures to come in early 2019! Follow me and make sure to tune in to this awesome couple’s wedding day!
