It started out with a heavy downpour. But as everyone was finishing up getting ready, Sonia and Xavier’s wedding day turned into clear and sunny skies. The perfect day for their Jacaranda Country Club wedding!
Both the bride and the groom got ready just around the corner of Jacaranda, at the Sheraton Suites. When I arrived, the girls were in full celebration mode. Treats were scattered everywhere, tempting me (because we all know I have a soft spot for the sweets)!
It appeared that everyone had their role. A couple of bridesmaids were in charge of drinks, while some helped me with the detail shots as the others were getting hair and makeup done. The boys were also in great spirits. Every wedding is different but it always appears that prep time is very similar. The ladies are running around, getting stuff done. The guys, on the other hand, tend to be laid-back, relaxed, and always with some drink in hand. In Xavier’s case, it was beer. That is, until they arrived at Jacaranda.I love how my second photographer captured the below detail shots. A question I’m often asked is who shoots with me. It varies from wedding to wedding, but I always have a professional, highly-trained photographer who assists me. They own their own photography businesses but, like myself, will second shoot with other professionals when not already booked. This is a great opportunity for us to help each other out, and learn from each other. I love our little creative community here in South Florida!
Any time the bride or groom sees the person they’re going to marry for the first time, it always brings tears to my eyes. This time was no different.
My question for Sonia was, “how would you like to let Xavier know when it’s time to turn around.” I gave her options, and knowing how silly they are, one of the options I gave was to smack him on the booty. So yes, that is exactly what she did!And Xavier’s reaction was priceless! We see that tear, Xavier! Don’t worry, we’re tearing up a little over here, too!
After the first look and a few photos of the lovebirds, we reunited with the bridal party for some photos.
#Squadgoals right here:How gorgeous is Sonia in her David’s Bridal Jewel gown?!Heading to the ceremony in style!
Because of the rain, Sonia and Xavier were forced to make an early morning decision to moved the ceremony indoors. But have no fear! Jacaranda Country Club is as beautiful inside as it is out.
The guests seem to really be enjoying themselves 😁Seriously, have you seen bigger smiles?!And it’s official … !A little bustling action before being announced to their reception as ‘husband and wife.’While we’re doing that, it’s cocktail hour and detail shots! We love photographing room and detail shots. Not only is the space and details gorgeous, but we recognize how important it is to document the vision you made a reality. I mean, Xavier and Sonia really put their hearts and hard work into this wedding day. And it really did turn out beautiful …Again, riding in style! On their way to meet me for a few more photos of just the two of them. Okay, we see you, you handsome couple, you!Anyone else totally getting the “Gone with the Wind” vibe?
They made it to their reception!Aside from the first look, the parent dances also get me a bit emotional!
The toasts were a touch of sweet, a dash of personal, and completely filled with laughter!
The couple didn’t want to make a big thing out of the cake-cutting so no announcement was made. We did a quick cake session so that they could get out on the dance floor. But according to them, this Edibles Arrangement cake was delicious! I can vouch for the scent because oh my, did it smell yummy!Dance, dance, dance!
Sonia and Xavier’s wedding = EPIC! It was the perfect Jacaranda Country Club wedding celebrating true love and I am so blessed to have been a part of it. Wishing these two a lifetime of happiness, love, and adventures (and hopefully many cute babies I can photograph)! 😉😊
