Being a part of this elopement at Mayfield park was super special to me. It wasn’t just another love story to be photographed. This time it was personal. Rebecca is a fellow photographer but, more than that, she’s a good friend of mine. I met her when they first moved here from Ohio a few years back. Since then, we’ve built a close friendship and I’ve gotten to know Rebecca and Tristan really well. To know them is to truly love them and to know how much they love each other, and those around them.
Since the beginning of their relationship, they have been through so much. The way they have supported one another and shown each other love is what life and relationships are really about.
“Tristan and I decided to have our elopement at Mayfield Park because we knew we wanted somewhere that was beautiful year around and captured the things we fell in love with about ATX! We love that it’s beautiful year around- we wanted an outdoor ceremony because we are outdoorsy people.
It was such a perfect day, even in the middle of January! The morning of our wedding we went out to our favorite breakfast place, Simmer Down, to enjoy a big plate of pancakes & biscuits and gravy. Then, we had my brother over and just played some board games before we got ready.”
Then they headed to Mayfield Park where I met them for them …
“After our ceremony in the park, we went out to eat with our small group including our very wonderful friend & photographer.
We both were so relaxed and happy on our wedding day. We kept telling each other how happy we were with how intentional we were with everything.”
*All post-ceremony photos at J Carver’s were shot on 35mm film**
“People often asked me as a wedding photographer myself, who I’d pick for my own wedding. When it was time for my wedding photos, we knew immediately who we wanted to call. Naomi was without a doubt the best decision we could’ve made for a photographer- I truly can’t imagine anyone who could’ve done the job she did. She is kind, thoughtful, intuitive and an absolute joy to be around. We couldn’t be happier to have had her presence on such an important day to us, and we are over the moon in love with our photos. Naomi, you’re the absolute best!” – Rebecca and Tristan
Thank you! YOU two are the best. Thank you for choosing and trusting me to be a part of such a special day. Watching your relationship grow is so special and I look forward to the many adventures we will all have together! Including the one where you two head over to Italy for your destination wedding!
Planning on eloping at Mayfield Park? I highly recommend it. With its lush landscape, picturesque cottage, beautiful ponds, and colorful peacocks, it’s a hidden gem! But there are a few things you should know …
There are two options: you can purchase a $50 photography permit for two-hours, but the grounds remain available to the public. You are not allowed to have a wedding or private event during this time. This means no catering, tents, DJs, a plethora of guests, etc. The photography permit allows you to use the grounds for engagement and portrait sessions, like this elopement. You can book a time slot using this link.
If you’re wanting to have a small/medium-sized wedding or event at Mayfield Park, it is absolutely an option! However, amplified sound is not allowed (so no DJs or bands). Acoustic music is and I would recommend it. It goes well with the ambience and vibe of Mayfield Park! You can reserve the park from 10 AM – 9 PM and, again, the gardens still remain open to the public. The cottage can also be reserved and this can hold up to 45 guests. For pricing and more information, see here.
Also, parking is limited. The onsite parking lot fits about twenty-five cars. Any other cars will need to park on Bull Creek road, but there is no fee for parking on the street here.
