Is there anything more romantic than a Texas Old Town engagement session? Well, when you combine that with Sandra and Tina’s love story, absolutely not!
What better way to tell a love story than by telling it from the couples’ point of view:
“We dated twenty-five years ago when we were in our early 20’s. We were both very young and didn’t realize how much we were meant to be together at the time. Although we didn’t stay together, we stayed in touch over the years.
We began talking more recently and made plans to hang out once Tina got back to Texas in mid-August. At the time, Tina was out of state, taking care of her mother. She came back to Texas shortly after her mom passed.
When we met up, it seemed like we were never apart. The fireworks and attraction was still very much alive and as strong as ever.
Shortly after, Tina proposed. We realized that life is way too short and that we had wasted enough time denying our feelings. We wanted to share our lives together.”
Finding a venue is so important. Sandra and Tina wanted one that reflects who they are. Because they love to be outdoors and have a real connection to nature, they knew that Texas Old Town was the wedding venue for them!
“Texas Old Town has been the go-to venue for thousands of Central Texas brides and event planners since 2004. Located in Kyle, Texas, it spans over 55 acres and has multiple venues that appeal to every engaged couple.”
Not only are Sandra and Tina saying their vows here, but they love it so much, they decided it was also the spot for their engagement photos.
Despite Sandra having broken her toe the night before, we had so much fun with their Texas Old Town engagement session. She was even a trooper in squeezing her foot into those cute boots and even walking around in them!
Tina is not a fan of being in front of the camera. Although, I cannot imagine why because these two are so photogenic!
But …
It’s pretty much inevitable that I have one in every couple who doesn’t feel comfortable being photographed. I can’t blame them! I’m super awkward when I’m in front of the camera 😂
The first thing I always do is let them just be them. I am “getting the settings on my camera where they need to be.” Secretly, what I am really doing is taking sneaky shots of them interacting with each other.
My goal is to make them see that this session (and their wedding day) is really about them, with or without the camera present. It also gives me the opportunity to capture beautiful, authentic, natural photos of them.
This results in the photos you see: raw, real, and pure love.
The below picture on the right will forever be in my memories. There was a huge (I mean HUUUUUUGE), black bug who was walking in front of me. I don’t kill bugs who are in their natural element so I let him do his thing. Little did I know, he was targeting my foot (I was wearing sandals so my toes were exposed). Sandra and Tina never mentioned he was heading my way. They just started giggling. By the time I looked down, the bug was right by my toes. I squealed and did a little ‘get-away-from-me’ dance before snapping off a series of photos like this one. Totally worth making a fool out of myself!
Congratulations to this beautiful pair! I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate your love and wedding day with you in October!!!
