A little less than one year ago, I was photographing this couple’s engagement photos at the Society of the Four Arts. It seemed like it was just yesterday. Now I’m photographing Andrea and David’s purple and gold Fort Lauderdale wedding!
Andrea and David have been together for what seems like an eternity. Well, since 2012. But a lot happens in six years, such as school, jobs, relocations, and yes, an engagement!
After all this time, these two are ready to go to the chapel (or St. Sebastian Catholic Church).
This groom currently resides in Jacksonville for work, while Andrea lives locally, not only working night shifts at a hospital, but also attending medical school. Talk about a chaotic schedule! Luckily, they’ll be moving in together after their vows, which should make life a little less crazy.
These two always seem to be on the same page and are conquering each vendor and task together. Stressed? If they are, I couldn’t tell you!
If you haven’t read my previous post about hiring a wedding planner, I highly recommend doing so. Whether you work full time, don’t know anything about weddings, or have a vision but don’t know how to execute it, weddings planners are here for you! My husband and I hired a planner for our wedding and I always suggest my couples doing so as well.
So you read about Andrea and David’s chaotic life and you’re wondering how their wedding was so perfect? I recommended my good friend, Abby from Blue Orchid Events and Design to them and she was able to bring their wedding vision to life!
Details are often overlooked! Make sure you set aside any wedding details that you’d like photographed. This could be anything from your jewelry, wedding invitations, perfume, veil, shoes, your ‘something borrowed,’ etc.
The tie that’s wrapped around Andrea’s beautiful bouquet was her grandfather’s. I love when couple’s add personal touches! How sweet is this father-daughter first look?
Andrea and David didn’t want a first look. Tradition was very important to them and they had their first look when she walked down the aisle.
Because they held their wedding in the summer (in Florida), they made sure all of their guests received personalized fans. Not only is this a cute personal idea, but it’s also considerate. Florida summers are no joke!
This couple were congratulated by the water taxi and its riders:After the ceremony, they wanted some private time to exchange gifts. I love this idea of escaping from the craziness and enjoying an intimate moment to take in the day and enjoy each other’s company.
Andrea and David had a first look at their reception site before the guests arrived and they were beyond thrilled with what Abby and her team did. Their purple and gold Fort Lauderdale wedding was executed flawlessly and looked so glamorous!
Right after their first look, they practiced their first dance, giving us a private show to enjoy and capture!
And then we headed out to the beach for more photos!
Gorgeous decor, personal touches, beautiful dances, and a good party at Bahia Mar! What more could this bride and groom ask for?!
Oh my goodness … this cake! Elegantly simple, divided by a dangling chandelier. And can I just say, it tasted as good as it looked!
Little did David know, Andrea had a groom’s cake made for him and his reaction was priceless!
And they lived happily ever after! Wishing this couple all the most amazing adventures together!
