Andrea and Jim have been married for 25 years. If you’ve ever been married, that’s a big deal! Marriage is a lot of hard work, communication, and most importantly, growing together. I know I’ve only been married for *almost* six years but even in those six years, I can see how marriage milestones can be something very important to celebrate. So A+J decided that a Fort Lauderdale beach 25 year anniversary celebration was a perfect way to honor their 25 years together.
I believe that Andrea and Jim say it best:
“It’s hard to explain how love can exponentially multiply over decades and not fade as common culture likes to insinuate.
Marriage does not have to be boring, confining, or controlling.
It should propel you to a truer ‘you’ which denies boredom or confining feelings.
It should make you feel safe, not controlled.
I felt more beautiful and more in love on this day than I did 25 years ago. It was a beautiful feeling I’ll never forget.
25 years ago, we were just beginning.
Now we have a world of ‘together.’ We have five people who are ours because of the love that God granted us. We have created a joint history that heightens love and loyalty.
It doesn’t come easily. We have been in marriage counseling both proactively and reactively. There is no shame in that. In fact, I feel proud of us for it.
Protecting our marriage via counseling is never something I will shy away from acknowledging.
We have our ups and downs, but there are no cliffs we have symbolically jumped off of with no return.
There are no valleys we haven’t emerged from. We have promised each other to pull back from the cliffs and remain steadfast during our marriage valleys.
These pictures represent a fierce effort of making marriage an action, not a by-product of our lives together.
These have such history behind them … I suppose that’s what I love so much compared to our first set of wedding pictures.
Our history … and our future. We are still falling in love.”
Jim presented his wife an anniversary band by going down on one knee…
When Andrea mentioned she wanted to do a bit of a trash-the-dress session, I was all in. Literally. We went all in!
Is it just me or do these shots remind you of “The Little Mermaid.”
I am truly blessed to have been a part of this session. A representation of their love, their history together … there are no words. Thank you, Andrea and Jim for allowing me to be a part of your Fort Lauderdale beach 25 year anniversary celebration. May you both be blessed with many more beautiful years together!
