The Tarazis moved to Florida about one year ago. Amidst the move, having a baby, and all the craziness that ensues, they never got a chance to do family portraits in Boca Raton with their two daughters and newborn son. Which brings us to today’s session at Mizner Park!
“Discover a luxury landmark at Mizner Park, located in beautiful Boca Raton. No trip to this picturesque place is complete without a visit to this retail property, which offers unparalleled retail stores set in a perfectly landscaped, park-like environment. Come for the shopping, stay for dinner and a movie at the onsite cinema.”
When I first spoke to Evelyn Tarazi, I didn’t know their story. We discussed the standard stuff through our emails and phone conversations: what should they wear? What props should be brought? What tips do I have as the photographer?
I like to keep the personal stuff and questions for the day of our session. This way it feels more personal and I’m a huge supporter of face-to-face conversation.
What I learned about the Tarazis during our session is that, although they’re originally from south Florida, they had just moved back from northern Virginia. Small world! My husband and I moved from northern Virginia about 2 years ago and getting to know this family was like having a bit of home brought to Florida.
Just like myself, the Tarazis miss the Virginia area and its four seasons. As you know, Florida gets to be a bit intolerably hot for a longer amount of time than most areas, especially Virginia. While they have fall, we are still experiencing summer. 🙄 Plus, the museums, culture, diversity, architecture … the things you take for granted while you’re there and then miss when it’s no longer easily available. Not that Florida doesn’t have those things, but it’s definitely different! And for me, I was born and raised in Virginia so I knew nothing else until I moved down here. Virginia is and always be home for me.
Throughout our session and some play time with the children, we enjoyed reminiscing about good old Virginia. And luckily for all of us, we all have plans to visit the area very soon!
This family session in Boca Raton was on the more traditional side, seeing as they hadn’t done newborn portraits of baby Jason or any recent ones of them as a family. And the grandparents are biting at the bit for some!
Just a little father-son bonding time:Proud, big sisters. What a gorgeous family! And the nicest!I think daddy Jason can work the hat just as well as baby Jason:Mommy’s boy. That smile is everything! And I am so obsessed with his little bowtie!I don’t think baby Jason knows what to make of this. Conflicting feelings? As with all of my sessions we also made sure to get some candid shots, which the ladies were a huge fan of. They were all about dancing on the fountains and playing some mini golf.Jason: 7 months old, teething, obsessed with pulling grass (to the point we had to place him on fake grass), and loves to eat anything he can put his hands and mouth on, including golf balls!
Future pro golfer? We just can’t get enough of this little face …Proud mom and dad of the most beautiful family.
