Rain couldn’t stop this Delray Beach engagement session, and thank goodness it didn’t because it was an epic one! Dips, twirls, and kissing in the rain have never been so romantic!
Online dating has been on the up and up for a while now. What a great way for busy people to date, not to mention those who are a bit shy, like myself! And there are tons of options out there … Match, eHarmony, Plenty of Fish … and I’m going to stop there since that’s how the happy couple met.
Samantha, being new to Florida, was convinced by her friends to join Plenty of Fish. Shortly after creating her profile, Eric messaged her. Although it took her a hot minute to respond, since she thought his profile was fake, she finally did and thank goodness for that!
It was an instant connection and they went on their first date. The date went so well that they have remained inseparable ever since (hence why there is now this Delray Beach Engagement session blog post up but we’ll get back to that)!
Samantha always wanted to visit New York, so Eric’s Christmas present to her was just that. And what’s better than making this trip a reality? A proposal!
It was just a typical day, walking through New York City, and ending up on Broadway to see “Chicago.” **I personally feel that you can’t go to NYC and not see a Broadway musical**
They met Eric’s friend for dinner, where it was suggested that they take a trip to Times Square, another tourist not-to-miss spot! When they stepped into the square, Samantha asked the friend to take a picture of her and Eric in the middle of Times Square. This is when Eric pulled out the ring and asked Samantha to marry him.
The rest is history!
When Samantha and Eric initially reached out and booked their session with me, they hadn’t settled on a wedding date or venue yet. Unfortunately, I found out two days before our session that the date they settled on, I was already booked. Lucky for me though, I still got the opportunity to meet these two lovely people and photograph their Delray Beach engagement session.
It rained. A lot. And consistently. However, no rain could stop us! In fact, in some ways, it actually helped us. There were way less people on the streets and on the beach, so less photobombing!
We started at Pineapple Grove, and stopped whenever we found a good backdrop, like the old railroad station, the pinball museum, and the streets of Delray. And we ended at the beach!
Eric is a huge fan of fun and quirky socks. The minute I saw them, I knew we had to get some shots of it!The perk of photographing on a rainy day? There is no one else on the beach to photobomb!Who doesn’t love some splash action?!Blingy nails, the perfect engagement ring, and a bracelet representing Florida = LOVE!Wishing these two lovely souls smooth wedding planning and the best life together! I may not be available for your wedding day, but I’m always around for a drink or doughnut! Not to mention family and/or anniversary photos!!! 😉
