I love meeting fellow girlbosses, especially when they’re as awesome and passionate as Fiorella! When she’s not in her studio, you can often find her attending hair courses and expos. Fio is always eager to learn and perfect her craft. No joke. This job is her life and she’s loving every minute of it! It’s obvious in the way she takes pride in her work, no matter how small the job.
How Sweet Memories Photography Met Fiorella Castro Hair
The world puts people in your life for a reason. I was fortunate enough to meet this beautiful soul during a Nautical-inspired styled shoot that we worked on together. Having just moved to Florida, I was excited to meet new faces and creatives, and what better way than to collaborate on a shoot?! Since then, Fio has not only been my go-to girl for all jobs and sessions, but she’s also my personal hairstylist. My hair is thick, long, wavy, with cowlicks. Needless to say, it’s a pain to deal with and no one believes me until they have to cut and style it. I have horror stories from stylists trying to maintain this monster!
Well, Fiorella worked her magic! No more searching for the perfect stylist for me because I found her!
On a Personal Note
When Fio isn’t working or learning, you can find her at a local gym, working up a good sweat. She also enjoys spending quality time with her puppy and family, as she’s extremely close to both. At her new apartment, she has this awesome chair-nest swing on her balcony where she likes to de-stress and enjoy quiet time, reading a good book (see photos below).
Branding
Something I don’t market enough of is branding sessions. I love them and I definitely do that (so if you’re interested, reach out)! I love helping fellow creatives show and share who they are, what they do to the world (or targeted audience, whichever they’d prefer). It’s not just a headshot or a logo. As Ann Locurto says, “Your brand is not just a logo, it’s the overall expression and experience you give to your audience and customers. Your brand expresses the value you provide. It’s you!”
Fiorella reached out to me about doing a more personal branding session. One that shows her in her element: her home. Like I mentioned before, her passion is her job and she’s always learning and perfecting the art. Well, most of this is done in her spare time at home, with her furbaby by her side. She has mannequins with different hair and different names (I love how each girl has her own name) that she does hair trials with. As Fio listens to music or watches her favorite shows, she practices different styles and cuts.
What I love most about this session is that not only do you get to see the Fiorella outside of her studio, but you get an inside look at who she is: a passionate hairstylist, casual but professional, and a dog-lover. And we all know that I love any session that includes a furbaby!
