I always love a good South Florida newborn session! Newborn sessions are unpredictable (never boring) and keep a photographer on their toes. You never know how the baby will be in front of the camera, not to mention how they’ll be when you try to change their outfits or get them naked. Some babies have to be clothed or wrapped at all times, but mom and dad want cute nudies! I mean, who doesn’t love an adorable butt shot?!
At the end of the day though, the baby is in charge! If they’re hungry, tired, or want to be bundled up, that’s the way we got to go. And that’s okay! Your baby is beautiful and will continue to do amazingly adorable things throughout the session as long as you keep them happy.
Layla was definitely in charge. Her session took place only days after being born, and was still experiencing everything for the very first time. She loved being clothed, and her priority during our entire session was to be fed. I know this can be frustrating for most, but her parents were amazing and just going with the flow. If we needed to take photos during feeding time, perfect! What a normal, beautiful, and natural moment to document.
Do you remember how I mentioned that a happy baby equals an adorable session? Well, that’s exactly what happened. We allowed Layla to sleep and be fed, and we ended up not only with beautiful documentary shots, but also with the most adorable tutu and pearl-wearing baby pictures!
I am so obsessed with the homemade flowers that decorate Layla’s wall. Aren’t they amazing?!See? After a good nap and some necessary feeding time, Layla was perfect and full of adorable facial expressions!Who doesn’t love a good baby feet shot?! Especially when they’re covered in the most adorable tutu!!!
